LONDON: The President of Yemen Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi calls for a speedy liberation of Hodeidah to spare its people from catastrophe. Hadi, added that the Yemeni government offered numerous consessions trying to persuade Iran backed Houthi militia to withdraw from Hodeidah to prevent a military show down there, but the militia refused, President Hadi said.

President Hadi's comments came as the Saudi-led Arab coalition and the Yemeni army launched a large military operation to push Iran backed Houthi militia from the port of Hodeidah's town and port on the Red Sea..
